The Texas Backup Power Package Program (TBPPP) is providing up to $1.8B in funding to help communities keep essential services running during grid outages and emergencies. Eligible facilities are expected to include water and wastewater systems, emergency operations centers, assisted living centers, hospitals, and other critical infrastructure.
This funding will support projects that design, build, and install microgrid backup power systems that meet both technical and legislative requirements. Funding will be limited and competitive — municipalities, utilities, and facility owners are encouraged to start tracking information as it is released to be prepared to submit applications when they open.

The Texas Backup Power Package Program (TBPP) helps ensure that essential community services remain operational during power outages. With up to $500 per kW available, the program helps cover the cost of installing and upgrading emergency backup systems utilizing natural gas or propane generators, battery storage, and solar microgrids.
Funding will be limited and competitive, and applications must demonstrate compliance with state requirements.
